Farris Farms is a lifelong dream that finally became a reality 13 years ago when my husband and I moved to our 28 acre farm. My love for horses and desire to have my own was the catalyst for this move. Along with my love for horses, dogs have always been a major part of my life. Starting with labradors and breeding them, I became interested in labradoodles. My desire for labradoodles grew because of the loving, loyal, and intelligent nature of both breeds; and the non shedding attribute of the poodles seemed like a match made in heaven. I got my first doodle six years ago, an apricot f1b. My husband and I instantly fell in love with her. Since breeding dogs is something I enjoy doing, I began searching for a stud. As a result of that breeding, I had 7 adorable puppies, of which I kept a chocolate female named Java. Desiring to refine and improve on my breed stock, I researched breeders and found an australian labradoodle stud for Java's first litter. After all the necessary tests, we were ready. Three beautiful pups were the result and I kept a black female, Layla.
